Opposition is the seventh episode of the second season.
Plot
An engine who formerly worked on the North Western Railway named Murdoch arrives to help Hank with the heavy goods. Murdoch has a record for strength, and so the other engines coax Hank into challenging Murdoch to a test of strength. The mighty engines were reluctant, but gave in anyway. Arrangements were made, and the challenge was for both of the engines to have long trains of equal weight to be pulled up Wyneb Hill. Both engines were evenly matched until Murdoch's small wheels started slipping. Hank struggled forward. In a wheesh of steam, Murdoch's wheels gripped the rails firmly and Murdoch soared to the top of the hill, leaving Hank lagging behind. At the bottom of the hill, a triumphant chorus of whistles and horns greeted the newcomer.
