Maron is the junction that connects the Rhyndale Railway, Killaban Joint Railway, and North Western Railway.
The station is located at the bottom of Gordon's Hill. It is a compulsory stop for all "down", unfitted or loosely-coupled goods to "pin down" brakes. Bankers, after assisting "up" trains, reverse over the points at the station onto the "down" line for the run back to Wellsworth. Boulder Quarry is located just north of the station. The Ulfstead Branch line joins with the mainline at the station.
